The only witness at the wedding of the jinn

Written by: Witness the Spectres
Since ancient times, the relationship between humans and the jinn worlds has been shrouded in mystery and awe. There are stories that cannot be explained by reason, and experiences that only those who have lived them can believe. Some see them as mere illusions, while others believe they are parallel worlds that intersect with ours when the doors between the unseen and the real open. In those moments, the laws change, and the night becomes a theatre for secrets whispered in hushed tones. This is not just imagination, but a real journey into a world that can only be perceived through fear... a world that dwells beyond the unknown.
My name is Uday, and I am from one of Iraq's provinces. When my father passed away, my brothers and I decided to divide his estate by mutual agreement. My father, may God rest his soul, had many properties, and there were four of us brothers. My share was the old house where my father had lived for a time, but which had been closed up in recent years.
It was in a semi-rural location surrounded by farmland. I accepted the division and began preparing to move there.
When I went there for the first time, I was surprised to find that all the houses near ours had been demolished and removed, except for one house next to our old house. I stood in front of the door, which had been covered in rust and dust for nearly ten years. No one had come here for a long time.
I stood there wondering: what would the inside of the house look like?
But I was surprised to find that the inside of the house was in better condition than the outside, with only a little dust on the old furniture and carpets.
I put my bag in one of the rooms, then sat down to think about what to do.
The next day, I decided to call one of my friends to help me clean the house, as I couldn't do it alone. We spent the day tidying and cleaning, then I drove my friend home and returned to my house outside the city.
I don't know why, but I didn't feel comfortable. As soon as I closed my eyes, I heard strange noises. When I got out of bed, I didn't hear anything, so I opened the outside door and looked out towards the farmland, but there was nothing strange except for the weeds and plants growing around the house.
I went back inside and tossed and turned on the bed, then I heard a knock on the door! I got up in a panic and listened carefully, and there were sounds of drums beating, coming from somewhere outside, accompanied by strange chants.
I decided to go out to see where the sound was coming from, but before that I looked out of the window and was surprised to see that there was A wedding in the house next door!
I left the house and stood in front of the door, surprised that none of the party guests had appeared. The door was open, and then a man came out walking quickly, looked at me and said:
– Uday, when did you arrive?
I was surprised that he called me by name, so I said to him:
– Excuse me, uncle, I didn't recognise you.
فقال:
– I am your neighbour, Abu Firas.
I told him:
– My father sometimes spoke to us about you, and he only had good things to say. He would say, "Abu Faras is a good man and a good neighbour."
At that moment, he took my hand, his grip strong and firm, and led me into his house. I was surprised by what I saw: a mixed wedding party, men and women in a large hall, dancing to strange music, wearing brightly coloured clothes I had never seen before in my life!
I was watching them in amazement when suddenly the music changed and became heavy, accompanied by the beating of tambourines and drums, and then The newlyweds.
They were dressed in black, and I noticed how short they were; the bride and groom were dwarfs.
I was very surprised by this, and noticed that the groom's ear was larger than usual.
I remained distracted, then Abu Firas came to me and said:
– Welcome, don't be afraid, dance, you are not a stranger to us. We love you and we love your father.
The dancing and singing continued, then I heard a commotion coming from outside, followed by a group of men and women all dressed in red.
They began running around inside the house with movements stranger than anything I had seen at first, and everyone joined in a frenzied dance. Then those wearing red clothes formed a circle, and a fire was lit in the middle of it. From nothing!
I was terrified at that moment, and I turned around in panic as if I were living a terrifying nightmare, and then darkness fell...
I felt someone trying to Choke me with all your strength.I cannot move or scream!
I opened my eyes to find myself near the door, and dawn was about to break. I looked towards the house where the wedding was taking place, and saw that the door was open. I headed towards it, and a woman came out, covering her face. When she saw me, she closed the door firmly and went inside.
I was lost in thought, thinking about what happened last night: Was it a dream? Or a terrifying reality?
I spent the day exhausted, and after noon I went to my friend's house. We had lunch, then sat down to chat. He said to me: "I sense something is wrong with you. What's the matter?"
I told him:
– Indeed, what happened to me is beyond belief...
I told him everything I had seen the night before, and he laughed and said:
– It must have been a dream, because you sleep alone in that big old house. You should get married as soon as possible!
I felt somewhat reassured after what he said, then he joked:
– If you're scared, you can stay with me tonight.
I told him:
– There's no need for that, I'll go back home.
I returned and parked the car near the door. The silence of the night was solemn, and I did not know why my heart was pounding. I opened the door and walked towards the bedroom, and I felt someone walking behind me!
I rushed to the tape recorder and turned on the Quran radio station, and the night passed peacefully until morning.
But the shock was that I slept all day without noticing the time, and when I woke up, I was extremely tired and exhausted. I looked at the clock, and it was seven o'clock in the evening!
Oh my God... How did the whole day go by without me noticing?
I dragged myself to the bathroom, and then I was surprised to find a folded piece of paper thrown under the door. I picked it up and opened it, and found the following written on it:
Welcome tonight, you are invited to the wedding at your neighbour Abu Faras's house.
I was surprised by this. If it was true, why didn't Abu Firas come to invite me himself?
I opened the door and looked towards my father's house, which was decorated with lights and seemed to be crowded with people, many of whom were sitting outside.
Could it really be a wedding?
I remained confused, not knowing what was real and what was fantasy...
Suddenly, Abu Firas appeared! I tried to avoid talking to him and went inside, but he called my name and came towards me, shaking my hand warmly and saying: "Welcome to our wedding. You are our guest tonight. You may not remember me, but I recognised you. The resemblance between you and your father is very clear."
At that moment, I was overcome by a strange curiosity...
I wanted to go into the party to see:
Was it the same as what I had seen yesterday?
I told him, "I'll change my clothes first and then come." He said, "No need, you look smart like that."
I entered the house with my father, Fares, and everything was normal: guests were seated, children were playing, and there were songs, as at any other wedding. I sat on one of the chairs, observing the situation, and after a few moments, two very tall people stood in front of me, emitting a foul odour.
I didn't understand why these two were standing in front of me and looking at me like that, and then all the guests stood up, and I was surprised to find that they were all taller than me!
This height is unbelievable... Then the foul smell got worse, so I covered my nose with my hand, and then I saw smoke as if a fire had broken out in the room.
Then I felt two hands touch my shoulders. I looked down and saw that they were very dark hands. I turned around in fright to see a person whose features were not visible, then he began to dance and sing to a tune I had never heard before.
At that moment, I felt as if I were in a world that was not my own. Fear filled me and terror overwhelmed me, so I cried out:
– Abu Firas! Abu Firas! Where are you?
The man came running towards me, so I said to him:
– Who are these people? And where am I?
He said:
– These are my relatives, and you are at our wedding.
I told him:
– But they look strange, and they're unusually tall!
He laughed and said to me:
– What's so strange about being tall? Sit here, I'll bring you some water to wash your face.
Then he brought a skin and poured water on me, and the water was Hot!
The whole situation suggested that I was in the wrong place, that I should not be here. The faces of those present began to change, their expressions shifting, even Abu Firas himself!
I was in their midst, almost fainting from fear, and the sound of their singing was deafening.
I wanted to run away, but I felt as if my hands and feet were bound. I tried to walk towards the door, but my steps were heavy, and every time I bumped into one of them, they would look at me with terrified eyes.
I ran outside, and in my fear, I forgot the Qur'an and forgot to seek refuge from Satan. I fell to the ground in the empty space between my house and my father's house, screaming, surrounded by the laughter of demons!
I felt someone pulling me by my feet, so I opened my eyes and saw a black dog holding my feet with its teeth and dragging me towards my father Faras's house. But... there was no one there anymore! Everyone had disappeared, and their voices were gone!
Then I turned towards the black dog... He was gone too! He had disappeared, leaving me behind.
I looked towards my father's house. It seemed quiet, with no sign of life. I took two steps closer. No one lives in this house, that's for sure.
The iron door was rusty, and dust covered the closed windows.
As I stood there, I heard a woman speaking to me from inside, saying: "What do you want?"
So I said to her:
– Come out, I want to talk to you.
I heard the door open, and a woman came out, hunched over, her face dishevelled, wearing a dark black robe.
I was frightened by her and decided to leave, but as soon as I tried to escape, I was pushed forcefully back into the house, and the door closed!
I felt my heart constrict, and I heard the nasty woman's voice laughing as if she were mocking me. The house was dark, with nothing visible but shadows floating around me.
I got up and went to the door, tried to open it, but someone hit my hand hard. I felt my hand bleeding, so I fainted.
I did not know how much time had passed, but when I woke up, I found the door open. I thanked God that I was still alive, returned to my home, and slept until dawn.
I went out for a walk, wanting to find out the story behind this house. I headed towards the village and came across a shepherd leading his sheep. I asked him if he knew anything about Abu Faras and his abandoned house.
The shepherd said:
The house no longer belongs to Abu Firas, who sold it years ago to someone who lived there alone,
but that person was found dead inside the house!
Many suspect that he was murdered, and since then the house has been abandoned.
No one dares to go near it, especially at night,
as strange and frightening sounds come from it.
Sometimes you can hear singing and music, as if it were a wedding!"
The shepherd paused for a moment, then said to me:
– But why do you ask?
I told him:
– Because I live next door to him.
Then the shepherd said:
– God was with you! If I were you, I would not have stayed in that house for even an hour. I would not have risked my life!
So I said to him:
– You're right, I almost lost my life yesterday.
Then I told him some of what I had experienced during the previous two nights.
I then decided not to live in that house. I put it up for sale and rented a small house in the city, taking the Qur'an as my companion and remembrance as my friend.
I sold the house a few weeks later, ridding myself of it and its bitter memories, and its ill-fated neighbourhood. But I will never forget the jinn wedding I attended twice.
Was what Uday experienced merely an illusion created by fear, or did he actually cross over into the world of jinn? In your opinion, can human life intersect with such a supernatural world unintentionally, or are some people chosen to witness the unseen?
